I have been keeping track of the events in Egypt. The potential change in leadership, the lawlessness and riots are very disturbing. I have been to Egypt twice in my life and each time it was inspiring. To hear about the museum being looted and peoples lives being threaten can only cause one to thank God for the honor of living in this country. While the USA is not a perfect country it is a a country of laws. I also know the Bibe teaches God raises up and puts down leaders at His will, for His purpose. You and I, as followers of Jesus, get to be a apart of His purpose, His will. Not that we understand everything at the time or even after something happens but we trust in the One who holds the world in His hands, He does have the whole world in HIs hands. On the practical side I always think about what if I was in circumstance like that in Egypt, what would I do to protect my family and assets? While here in America we have the right to bear arms, to own firearms of various types, in Egypt they don't have that right so in a sense they are defenseless. The bad guys have the weapons the good guys are left defenseless, again another reason to thank God we live in this country. As you can see I am a God and Country type person, one who believes in the freedom of the individual to succeed or fail without government interference. I think that's enough of my personal thoughts on government. Let us pray for the followers of Jesus in Egypt for their safety and livelihood.
